What I miss most about the military is the comradery. I felt invisible when I first got out. I spent a total of 7 years in the Army and Army Reserves, with 3 deployments and 3 different units. I'm happy that social media has given me the opportunity to keep in touch with a lot of the people I met while in. I struggled with missing the comradery after I got out, but getting involved with other local Veterans and developing friendships with people in the Houston Veteran community has helped me tremendously with my transition to Veteran life.
The veteran community in Houston is really amazing, there's something for everyone and we are truly never alone.
Comradery is something I miss too. Getting involved helped a lot restoring that missing piece in civilian life. I'm with you- So happy to find the Houston Veteran Community!
